Letter From Preschool Teachers
Hello Parents!
In the 3's classroom your child will be learning many things to help prepare them for the next step in their development. In my classroom, we be working on recognizing their name, letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. During a normal day in our classroom, we will have a 15 minute circle time where we will be going over days of the week, months of the year, our theme, and review basic concepts. We will also talk about the weather outside and work on our calendar skills during this time.
Another important part of our day is Reading Time. We will talk about the best way to handle our books and to treat them with respect. I enjoy reading stories to the children and we do that more than once a day. The children will also have different chances throughout the day to enjoy books independently in our reading center.
We spend time every day working on skills including practice on writing their name, numbers, and letters as well as using scissors. Social skills are also important as well as learning classroom routines and expectations. My hopes for each child is for them to be ready to move to the pre-kindergarten classroom by the end of their year with me.
Looking forward to the fun ahead!
Ms. Laura
