Letter From Pre-K Teachers
As Pre-K teachers it is our responsibility to not only prepare your children for kindergarten but for real life situations as well. Children will learn the fundamentals by seeing, hearing, and doing in our classroom!

Fine-Motor Skills
- cutting and gluing
- holding writing tools properly
- writing names, numbers, and letters
- buckling, zipping, buttoning, and tying
- Name recognition and printing
- learning letters, their sounds, and how to make them in sign language
- develop and demonstrate listening and speaking skills
- book sense
- Count to (at least) 20
- Number recognition up to (at least) 20
- Basic graphing
- recognize all necessary shapes
- understand math vocabulary words including: more, less, small, medium, large, over, under, between, next to, etc.
- observing, asking questions, coming up with answers, etc. as part of scientific inquiry and problem solving
- Cause and effect relationships
- Demonstrate awareness of family structure and responsibilities
- Expand self awareness
- develop awareness of community and community helpers
- Demonstrate proper self-help skills
- sharing and taking turns
- using good manners and polite language including please and thank you
- how to follow our classroom rules
- learning and practicing self control
- how to behave during transition periods
- using appropriate ways to express emotions through discussion, art, music, and movement
